Are you a fan of inspirational and heart moving films? If so, this is going to be a great treat for you.
I decided in this holiday season to create a list of the top 20 inspirational movies I’ve seen over the years so you can watch them during this special season with your friends and family.
But not any kind of movie, I just hand picked the best of the best. Movies that will make you laugh, cry, believe in yourself and push you to achieve your dreams.
My favorites are the ones based on a true story!!! I believe they are special…
Be ready to open your heart and mind to receive an avalanche of hope, encouragement and inspiration!!! And don’t forget the popcorn and the candies :-). HEHE
Here are the top 20 inspirational movies… PUSH PLAY!!!
Rudy
Inspirational Message: Determination and persistence is more important than talent.
Inspirational Summary: Rudy is an incredible true story about Dan Ruettiger, a boy who dreams of becoming a football player for the Prestige University of Notre Dame. He shows that his dream is way more important than all the obstacles he has to overcome. His hard work, discipline, effort and tenacity make him one of the greatest success stories of all time. By the way, this is my favorite movie all time and still going strong in the first place after many years. Rudy, Rudy, Rudy…
Seabiscuit
Inspirational Message: Everyone has a champion within.
Inspirational Summary: Seabiscuit is an inspiring true story of a lazy and slow horse used for training other horses. He was trained to lose, not to win. But he found hope and overcame the odds to become “Horse of the Year” in 1938 and became the most popular race horse in America during the great depression. The best suitable word description for this horse is “Champion”.
Facing the Giant
Inspirational Message: Trust in the power of faith.
Inspirational Summary: High school football coach Grant Taylor has never led his Shiloh Eagles to a winning season. He injected the power of belief and the positive attitude’s mentality in his players as a new philosophy to win ball games. There is a powerful and touching scene in the movie that’s worth seeing it a million times. Believe me :-).
October Sky
Inspirational Message: Quit what you don’t love doing and follow for your dreams.
Inspirational Summary: Based on an extraordinary true story of high schooler Homer Hickam Jr., a coal miner’s son who was inspired by the Sputnik satellite in the night sky, he dares to break free from his work in the coal mines and reach for the stars and build his own rocket against his father’s wishes. At the end Homer turn his dream into reality and became a NASA engineer. Sometimes you gotta go against what your parents are telling you to do. Just follow your heart!!!
Men of Honor
Inspirational Message: Be the best and don’t ever quit.
Inspirational Summary: Men of Honor is a true story of an African-American (Carl Brashear) sailor who dared to dream of becoming a U.S. Navy Master Diver. Despite a ruthless training and a shipboard accident, Carl’s iron will is never broken. The overall message is push hard, never quit and live life to the fullest potential. Don’t forget to be a man/woman of honor.
The Shawshank Redemption
Inspirational Message: Get busy living or get busy dying.
Inspirational Summary: This is a movie story that is going to catch your heart and spirit. This is one of the all time greatest films that you are going to see. It’s full of surprises and shows that any person can succeed during the worst and most horrible conditions. Here is my take away in a nutshell; have a dream, keep your hope, make friends, share your wisdom and use your time wisely.
The Secret
Inspirational Message: Ask, Believe and Receive.
Inspirational Summary: The secret is a documentary film based on the law of attraction. For the first time in history, leading scientist, authors, and philosophers will reveal The Secret that utterly transformed the lives of those who lived it…Plato, Newton, Carnegie, Beethoven, Shakespeare and Einstein. It’s a thought provoking and eye opening film that shows the possibilities that exists in the Universe. If you read or listen to personal development materials, this is a must watch movie.
Remember the Titans
Inspirational Message: Respect, trust and value people by who they are and where they come from.
Inspirational Summary: In 1971 when a man was judged by the color of his skin… A black coach named Herman Boone (Denzel Washington) pulled together and solidified an unfocused group of young boys into the most powerful football team in the state of Virginia. This is a true story movie that shows what it takes to win in sports and in life. Get united or get defeated!!!
Tucker: The Man and His Dream
Inspirational Message: You can take away my car but nobody could take away my dream.
Inspirational Summary: Based on a true story of an enthusiastic and dynamic engineer man who envisions the car of the future. His charisma, vision, persuasion skills and positive attitude took him to build a fleet of Tucker Sedans in 1948 in the motor city of Detroit, while competing with the three biggest automobile manufacturers. Tucker is the clear example of the ultimate believer in the American Dream.
Forrest Gump
Inspirational Message: Life is like a box of chocolates…you never know what you’re gonna get.
Inspirational Summary: Forrest Gump is the story of a man who managed to live life with a “YES” attitude and who demonstrated that anyone can make a big difference in life regardless of your own limitations. Through Forrest’s story you are going to learn things like competing, caring, being coachable, being a wingman and giving it all. Run, run, run… Watch it. It’s AWESOME!!!
