Braveheart

Inspirational Message: Would you fight for something you believe?

Inspirational Summary: This movie shows one of the greatest examples of leadership and it’s one of the all time best. William Wallace embarks on a journey to earn Scotland’s freedom from English rule around the end of the 13th century. Wallace really knows how to lead by the front and guide his troop with action instead of words. This film is a real masterpiece!!!

Beautiful Mind

Inspirational Message: Everyone has a genius mind.

Inspirational Summary: Based on the true life’s story of John Forbes Nash. A mathematical genius that made an astonishing discovery early in his career. Nash found himself on a painful journey of self-discovery once he was diagnosed with schizophrenia. After many years of struggle, he eventually triumphed over his mental disorder and late in life, received the Nobel Prize.

Jerry Maguire

Inspirational Message: Be genuine, authentic and care for others.

Inspirational Summary: Jerry Maguire is a very successful sports agent who suffers a nervous breakdown as a result of stress. He ends up losing his job and mostly all his clients as a result of putting together a mission statement for the company he works. Jerry keeps the football player Rod Tidwell and after that, he start living a more fully and meaningful life based on what he thinks is right. Prepare to laugh and cry at the same time.

Pursuit of Happiness

Inspirational Message: You have a dream, you gotta protect it.

Inspirational Summary: Based on the true story of Chris Gardner. He invests his family’s savings in portable bone-density scanners which he tries to sell to doctors. This investment breaks the family, bringing troubles to the relationship with his wife that leaves him alone with his son. He takes an unpaid internship to become a stockbroker, fighting against his peers for a position in the firm. He goes from challenges to challenges!!! Chris’s story shows what it takes to succeed regardless of the difficulties. Greatest tenacity story ever!!!

The Bucket List

Inspirational Message: Start living your life by design.

Inspirational Summary: Two terminally ill men met at the hospital and found each other with cancer. One of them is rich and owner of the hospital, while the other one is a mechanic with a very low income. The mechanic wrote down a list of things he would love to do before his final day and the rich guy discovered the list and together decided to go on a journey of adventures. This movie will inspire you to create your own bucket list and to start living as the architect of your magnificent destiny. Very inspiring :-).

Goal

Inspirational Message: Talent could open doors of opportunity.

Inspirational Summary: Goal is a movie of a young man who has a dream of playing soccer in the big stage. Santiago Munez, a Hispanic, who grew up in poverty and hardship, dreams all day of playing the game professionally one day. Santiago has two jobs and works in landscaping during the days with his father. One day a scout watch him play and offer him an opportunity to tryout with powerhouse British team Newcastle United. His father refuses to help Santiago pay for the trip and his grandmother empties her savings to help him follow his dream. This films capture the essence of taking risks, having a passion for something and the love from family!!!

Blind Side

Inspirational Message: The importance of family and values.

Inspirational Summary: Based on the extraordinary true story of football player Michael Oher. Michael has no idea who his father is and his mother is a drug addict. He has little formal education and few skills to help him learn. Michael goes from living on the streets to living in a home of a conservative suburban family. This a real life story of family and a young teen who growth into a blue chip football star. This movie is going to touch your heart in a very positive way!!!

Peaceful Warrior

Inspirational Summary: The true story of Jim Braddock a boxer and a hard working man who achieved his greatest success against the most daunting odds of his life. James displays the strength, spirit, and tenacity to fight through financial hardships, a serious hand injury and the 1930’s great depression. This is a world-class film!!!

    My favorite three on the list (10-20) are Braveheart, Pursuit of Happiness and The Blind Side.

    You should consider adding a page to your blog with all your recommendations (books, movies, recipes, vacation spots…etc) all in one place and call it “Taso recommends” or something like that.

    I do have to agree that your blogging is getting better and better. I really think it’s awesome to see your commitment to adding value in people’s life. From challenging people to get out of their comfort and giving people a new perspective or reminding them on what matters most. I think its awesome!! 🙂 I definitely appreciate your dedication to be the uncommon and inspire people. For people that don’t know you on a personal level I would like to say that you are one of the most sincere and ginuine individuals I know. Your positive energy is contagious and I’m greatful for our friendship. Anastacio keep the great messages coming! I can’t wait for you to write your book! I know it will change thousands of lives.

    As for the movies that fire me up, I would have to say Rocky is a great fighters classic! I’m surprised no one has mentioned, The notebook. Yes…it’s about love but it’s so powerful and inspiring the love the man had for his wife…wow! Amazing! Had me crying like a baby. 🙂

    Anyhow, thinking about all these inspirational movies/stories have me all fired up!

    What you said is so true… I feel like I’m growing and getting better everytime I post a new blog post. It’s wonderful to be in a constant state of progression and improvement.     I haven’t seen anyone recommending this movie for you “Homeless to Harvard”. Since it is similiar to your favourite (Ruby) I decided to leave a comment 🙂

  16. Hey man, the list is awesome i have to say although i have not watch some of these movies but it is included in my list – I’m not seeing the The God Father movie mention in your list which i believe is the best collection to watch.
