Have you ever thought about running a 26mile’s marathon or swimming 2.4miles in an open water ocean? Or perhaps, bicycling 112miles? Sounds very extreme, ah?
Let me tell you something. The longest distance I’ve ever run is 6miles and I felt exhausted when I finished that race back in 2007. It was an unbelievable experience and certainly one of my greatest physical achievements. Can’t imagine running 26 miles. Hehe!
What about swimming! Yes, I’ve swum .62miles non stop [an equivalent to 2 ½ laps (1000meters) in a track and field] and when it comes to bicycling, just casual riding with friends around the beach ;-).
Now, can you imagine completing one of these challenges? That would be awesome. But what if we combine these three challenges into one?
If we take these three disciplines: swimming, bicycling and running, you will end up having the toughest race in the planet, the Ironman Triathlon. It could potentially take you almost a day to finish it. Believe me, I’m not exaggerating.
By finishing this prestige race, you will become part of the ironmen and ironwomen high achiever’s group. A group that breaths determination, focus and a belief that you can do anything you want.
Today’s inspirational video features Team Hoyt, a father and a son, both triathletes and part of that elite group, living life to the fullest and inspiring thousands of people around the globe to go after their dreams and the fulfillment of their potential.
Team Hoyt have completed more than 1,000 races, including marathons, duathlons and triathlons (6 of them being Ironman competitions). Also adding to their list of accomplisments, Dick and Rick biked and ran across the U.S. in 1992, completing a full 3,735 miles in 45 days. What’s most impressive is how these two were able to pull it off with their disadvantages. It’s pretty amazing.
This is a great story of hope and that working hard for what you believe in can pay off big time. It also shows that teamwork, being mentally tough and having a strong desire are key elements to achieve any goal. Specially the big ones!
Well, I have a feeling that you are going to love this video as much as I did.

My biggest takeaway in a nutshell comes from the father Dick Hoyt when he said…
“You can do anything you want to do as long as you make up your mind, you can do it”.
